The question of the day for the 3/24/2010 meeting was "Why are we here?" This question was to reinforce the fact that the members are there, not just to promote their own business, but learn about other businesses. Members are there to help promote each other, and do not expect freebees from other members of the group. It is about building businesses, not destroying them.
At the last meeting the question of the day was "Why are we here?" For the next meeting,in addition to talking about things going on in our own businesses, the questions to the members will be 'how do we as 'business owners', protect ourselves from being hurt by others and their bad choices?' Like so many things, in not just business, everyone has choices and decisions to make. These days, it can be even tougher to make a decision and know who to trust. Is it better to have a quick result or to make a good decision and to be able to sleep at night?
Why are networking groups working for some people but not all?? I think people have to ask themselves, before anything, is what will their committment to a network group be and can they they accomplish this? I was reminded today, that a network group is not there to necessarily to promote your business, but it gives a member "access" to the hundreds of people that the other members know. Subconsciously, another persons committment to the group, builds the trust of the other members of the group. By committing to meetings, members keep their service/business in front of other members. Committment takes discipline.
Glad to be a part of Integrity Networking Group!
